Faces

Think of some of your closest friends. Picture them in your mind and then try to envision the contours of their face, the pigment of their skin, and the endless mystery of their eyes. Who are they to you? Is this person someone you see everyday, a college roommate, a neighbor, or someone that you haven’t seen in a long time? What qualities or characteristics does this person possess that make you friends? These are all questions that I have asked myself in my quest to capture an impression of my friends.

I have been richly blessed with great friends and people that love me. I think that this is simply a way of honoring them and showing what they mean to me. I must admit that this is not a final showing of these portraits; it is merely the first evolution. Each painting brings me around to face something new; it's a journey whose nature I'm still discovering.
